Treatment for Children, Adolescents and Adults with Bipolar Disorder
I have treated patients with bipolar depression for 20 years. It is a treatable condition. Patients can get better with treatment.
Bipolar disorder is also known as manic depression. This disorder is marked by episodes of unusually intense feelings of mania (happiness and energy) that alternate with depression. Psychiatrists classify four types of bipolar disorder: Bipolar 1, Bipolar 2, Bipolar NOS (Not Otherwise Specified) and Cyclothemia. Depending on which type of bipolar disorder you suffer from the exact course of treatment may vary.
Bipolar disorder can get worse if it is not treated. Over time, an untreated bipolar sufferer may experience more frequent and more severe episodes than when the illness first appeared. Also, delays in getting the correct diagnosis and treatment make a person more likely to experience personal, social, and work-related challenges as a result of this disease.
In my practice, I treat bipolar disorder in adults and children with a combination of medicine and therapy. My goal is to help you. Please call me–(202) 775-0620. I am currently taking new patients with Bipolar Disorder.
